LDASC has added benefits for members only:
1. Be watching your mail for an LDASC South Carolina Drug Card. This is being offered as a free resource through the Learning Disabilities Association of South Carolina for our members. The LDASC South Carolina Drug Card is a free discount prescription assistance drug program partnered with the South Carolina Medical south-carolina-drug-card-ldasc-button-templateAssociation & South Carolina Nurses Association. Partnering organizations include state and local clinics, schools, universities, literacy programs & councils, food pantries, Hispanic resource services, food pantries, cancer, diabetes, epilepsy, AIDS & cystic fibrosis support programs, CHADD, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, etc., to help reach the uninsured and underinsured in South Carolina to afford their prescription medications. Savings with the prescription drug card can be up to 20-75% off retail price for most brand & generic FDA-approved medications. Please note that this card is available to members and that no personal information of any member has been shared.
2. An LDASC member only community FaceBook page has been created. This is a private forum where members can gather to share success stories, seek advice from other members and LDASC Board Members, connect personally with LDASC Board Members, and learn about member only events as they are created. If you are on FaceBook, you can request to join the Members Only LDASC Community Page at Your membership will be verified and then you will be added to this page.

The Learning Disabilities Association of South Carolina is a grassroots, nonprofit organization of and for all individuals who are committed to the education and welfare of persons with learning and attention disabilities.

What Does LDASC Do for You?

Here are some of the activities of our volunteer organization which benefit the learning disabled in South Carolina:

  • Monitor and advise on special education legislation at the federal and state levels.
  • Monitor & advise the South Carolina State Board of Education on issues dealing with learning disabled students.
  • Provide advocacy information and support to parents, learning disabled individuals, educators, and professionals.
  • Provide training seminars throughout the state to educators for professional development & to parents on issues related to learning disabilities, and related disabilities/disorders.
  • Responds to questions to provide support, advocacy, and assistance to parents to locate appropriate resources.
  • Collaborates with like cause organizations to provide resources, support, education, training, and advocacy to ensure success for all people with learning disabilities.
  • Works with state and federal agencies and organizations on training materials, etc. (Dyslexia Task Force, State Department of Education Dyslexia Training Manual).
  • Provide information material through our online store that can be used to promote learning disability awareness; assist with training for parents, teachers, educations, service providers, and the public, in general; help parents to know key terminology and resources available to assist in advocating for services for their children with LD.
  • Provide and support workshops and miniconferences.
  • Publish the quarterly state newsletter, Learning Matters.
  • Increase public awareness of learning disabilities in communities throughout South Carolina.
