Mission Statement

The mission of the Learning Disabilities Association of South Carolina is to identify causes of learning disabilities, promote prevention of learning disabilities, and to enhance the quality of life for all individuals with and affected by learning disabilities.

Vision Statements

1. We envision a world where all individuals with learning disabilities are empowered to thrive and participate fully in society.
2. We envision a tomorrow where the incidence of learning disabilities is reduced by appropriate prevention practices.
3. We envision a world where learning disabilities are universally understood and effectively addressed.

Goals

1. To  create opportunities for success for all individuals affected by learning disabilities.
2. To reduce the incidence of learning disabilities in future generations.
3. To encourage effective identification and intervention.
4. To foster research related to learning disabilities.
5. To protect the rights of individuals with learning disabilities under the law.
6. To support and help provide educators and service providers to receive and implement appropriate training and professional development related to effective instructional techniques for students with learning disabilities.
7. To support the voice of advocacy of individuals with learning disabilities and their family members.
